Vote in the 2013 bit-tech and Custom PC Awards

Vote in the survey to be in with a chance of winning some fab prizes.

Voting is now closed.

The winners can be found here.

It's that time of year again: it's the Bit-Tech and Custom PC awards!

Yes, another year has passed. Our bones are getting creakier, the grey hairs are sprouting and we're looking ever more wizened, but over the last year we've also had the pleasure of a host of new tech toys to tinker with and great games to go gaga over. But which were the best? Well that's where you come in.

Vote in the Bit-tech and Custom PC awards 2013.

Once again, every single one of the 16 categories in the Bit-Tech and Custom PC 2013 awards is being decided by you. From cases and coolers to PC games and peripherals, you'll get to have your say on just about everything that matters to a PC gamer and modder.

Awards are handed out to manufacturers rather than individual products so in your deliberation think about how the company has approached the market, how supportive it has been, and of course whether it has had some cracking products too.

Now, we wouldn't want you to do all that voting just for fun - though we know you love it really. So, we've lined up a few rather snazzy prizes courtesy the folks at Overclockers UK. The first voter drawn from our virtual hat will bag themselves an MSI gaming laptop worth a cool £1300 while runners up will receive an Overclockers mousemat and mug.

All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning is click the link below, cast your votes and fill in your details. What could be easier?

The results of the awards will be announced on bit-tech on the week commencing 6th May while Custom PC will be featuring the winners in issue 118.

So, what are you waiting for? Get voting!

I've done this for several years, and will do again, but one question - why have I never been able to find a list of winners?

Edit: Scrub that, found them straight away.

* Goes for a lie down *

You can simply skip categories if you don't have a strong opinion on them - just don't tick the box and click next.

From my time on these forums I find it hard to believe anyone voting cannot form a strong opinion about something of which they have no prior knowledge nor experience.

And yes, I do include myself in that swathing comment. :)

Here's a suggestion for your survey in future years. Give me the option to opt out of marketing emails etc at the point at which I complete the survey - it's not really good enough to say "You can opt out at any time once you've opted in by completing this survey", is it?

One word.

Personally I,m not a fan of ocuk their customer service stinks Ive had better service from Scanuk but then I guess its pot luck when you shop online if you get a good sales person dealing with your order you will get good service and vice versa I guess i've just been lucky

Didn't Overclockers sponsor the awards and provide prizes, so shouldn't have they been removed from the voting options?

And yeah I agree with G0UDG Scan have offered far better service to me than Overclockers.
G0UDG 3rd May 2013, 12:44 Quote
Yep Totally agree with you Damien ocuk should not be in the voting options for that very reason

Overclockers have been bought out by Caseking - no idea on what changes have been made though. However, despite not being a fan of OCUK previously, I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt under new management.

Under the old management I was banned for taking someone back to the store with faulty items and I was banned for taking back faulty items.

Under the new management they refuse to deal with any RMA requests and instead I have to deal with the manufacturers, regardless of how old the item is.

In my mind OCUK will never again get my money or recommendation.

When did that happen dave? Safe to shop with now? One order ever with them, a monitor that was returned, my main gripe with them was their random explanations as to how a new monitor could be covered in fingerprints on its screen when a protective cover had then been placed over it. Coincidentally dead pixels. Surprise.

Hopefully new management means new attitudes. Surprised scan lost though.

Sorry for the late reply, Dan.

I think it was in the last 12 months - it has certainly since my last dealings with them, which didn't end well.

I'm willing to try them out again.

Ok maybe I'm a little slow but I still cannot find who won the prizes from the awards. I can find who won the awards but not the prizes?
