More prizes anounced!
It’s now only a week until the inaugural bit-tech and Custom PC Pub Quiz but plenty of stuff is still happening behind the scenes.
We can announce, for example, that in addition to having Corsair on board as a partner and main prize sponsor, we’ve also teamed up with Paradox Interactive. This means that everyone who attends will be walking away with not one but two steam codes - not bad for just making your way into central London eh?
We’re also working hard on making sure that the winners get their hands on something unique - if all our plans come together there should be a decidedly cheesecake shaped prize, and also something large and shiny for the winning team to hold aloft for all to see. These particular prizes are however depended on our hunger pangs on the day of the quiz, and us ever finding a gold spray paint that doesn’t rub off at the slightest provocation.
If you want to snap up one of the remaining few tables at the quiz just grab a small group of equally techy friends and email in to
quiznight@custompc.co.uk. Teams can have up to a maximum of five people in them, and all we need to book your place is a team name. It’d also be useful if you included a phone number in the email, but that’s not compulsory.
We’ll then email you back to confirm your spot at the quiz, and it’s only on receiving this confirmation email that your spot is definitely booked. There's no charge for the quiz, but there is a strict limit on numbers.
Don’t worry if you can’t get a full team together, we’re more than happy to have teams of fewer than five there on the night. We can also pair you up with others who couldn’t muster a full team if you wish - just let us know in your email.
With that said, we’re off to polish up the last few questions for the event - we do hope you know your TCP from your TDP.

Discuss in the forums Replylinky you say? :D
Not that there was any guarantee I'd be able attend anyway, although I'm sure it'd be fun.
Make the people who turn up wear badges displaying their forum ID. ;) :)
Mingemuncher and Itchy Rim? They'll go down a storm
:)
That was a positive comment, wtf are you doing? ;) :p :)
We've got the downstairs booked and you're welcome to turn up after work and slot in somewhere. Of course getting the time off work will mean you wont miss gems such as the 'Name the map' round or the 'Game, film or hardware' round.

So? Just come along! I've never met anyone on the forum!
Decided to :D
You could also bring some or your like minded mates, we're not expecting everyone there to be a bit-tech forumite.
Please God no!
and will there be (cheese)cake at the end?
No!
Yes and Maybe
I see a small flaw in your plan...
I have a even bigger problem having to cross a whole continent or two and cross some oceans :( Would have been awesome!
Ahhh yea, great minds ^^
PS is there an entry fee?
Now there's a good idea. Too bad I can't make it but since I'm not a Londoner, I don't think I'm invited anyway.
Presuming there are still spaces free?
We've got 3-4 people coming as singles at the moment who are likely to be combined into a team, so you wont be left on your own, don't worry.
Hope everyone has fun
Expecting lots of pics and hopefully an article covering the event :)
Cool, you just going to want slotting into a team on the night?
Not sure if Team Aria Forums is going to be (anywhere near) full, we'll take Deadbolt if he's free and up for it :P
If nothing else, you'll get a free drink and a game out of it...
Cheesecake round.....how can you not come?!
To be honest, most of the people in our team are not techy, and going by some of the hints of what could be in the quiz, I don't know any of it either! Come along for the fun ;)
Plus it can't be all hardware related, so they're bound to have at least 1 question we know :D

Disappointed we missed out on a new Keyboard :(.
Guess these mice will have to do :D *wags tail*.
Another thanks to you guys who organised it, and again thanks to Ben for his Tetris article in the latest issue of CPC... if i hadn't read it this morning, i'd have never known the answer to the CGA question :D.
EDIT: +and thansk to Corsair as well obviously.
What was the GFX card before you sprayed it? It looked dual gpu from the glance I got at it. I think you should have benchmarked it, we all know gold increases electrical conductivity, probably would have given us more FPS in Crysis.
vdbswong: I can trade you the mouse for my memory stick :D
Here's hoping for a good round-up article explaining who won what how.
The graphics card that made the trophy was a ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 - if the winners try and rip it out of the base and use it, I'm likely to go mental as we'll need it back for the next one!
can't wait to see the article and photos :D
It's depressing when a 'junk' card is actually faster than what you're currently running (4870 1GB). :D
