Ex-Wikileaks spokesman admits destroying files

An ex-spokesman for Wikileaks, has admitted destroying documents that had been sent to the site.

Daniel Domscheit-Berg, ex-spokesman for the controversial site Wikileaks, has admitted destroying thousands of documents that had been sent to the site.

Mr Domscheit-Berg claims to have destroyed the files in an effort to prevent sources from being revealed. The files in question included a complete version of the US No-Fly list, detailing who isn’t allowed into or out of the country due to suspected links to terrorism.

This claim was later confirmed via twitter when Wikileaks corroborated Mr Domscheit-Berg’s story. Wikileaks also accused Domscheit-Berg of deleting over 5Gbs of data taken off servers when he left, a claim that he is yet to confirm.

A statement attributed to Julian Assange has accused Domscheit-Berg of sabotage and attempted blackmail.

Was he protecting his sources? Or just trying to distance himself from Wikileaks? Tell us your thoughts in the forums.
