To our friend and former colleague,

The teams behind both bit-tech.net and TrustedReviews are deeply shocked by the recent news of your terrible loss.

Although you wrote for bit-tech for only a short time, you will always be a part of the team that has transformed bit-tech into what it is today.

We can only begin imagine what you, your family and Lindsay's family are going through at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you in these troubled circumstances and the team offers you our sincerest condolences.

For those members of bit-tech's community who would like to leave your own message of condolence, please do so respectfully in this (closely monitored) thread.

Yes, made the connection as soon as I saw him the 10 o'clock news :(. Terrible thing to happen - my thoughts are with Ryan and Lindsay's family at this difficult time.

How awful :(

I saw him on the news conference yesterday or whenever and thought 'Poor bloke' - he was understandably in pieces.

To find out now that he's one of ours makes it even worse.

I didn't realise it was the same Ryan until I read this thread. That's an absolutely terrible thing to happen to anyone, and my thoughts are with Ryan and the entire Hawker family.

things like this always make me question the possibility of a "higher power"...i am sorry for your loss, and more sorry for her and what she must have gone through before she died. it is nice that bit-tech made this information public to us...i hate how this kind of news is normally only broadcast for the rich and famous, as if the normal people of the world dont matter...take care

My condolences to Ryan and Lindsay's families. I am stunned that such a big story has concerned somebody that you know about, and she looked like a happy person. Why do bad things happen to the nicest people? You never expect it to happen to someone like that. The muderer should be put to death. I hope that didn't sound too brutal, but I really am saddened to hear this story. The way she was mudered; disgusting, and unfair.

absolutly gutted.

The suspect looks like a mean son of b****, its a shame she lost her life, i only wish it was all in china as they know how to deal with suspects......

Not that i wished for this all to happen. makes me mad that there are sick people out there.

All i can say is 'chin up chap, were british so pop the kettle on and have a brew'. (vage atempted to lighten the mood and bring little smiles....)

My most sincere condolences at this obviously distressing time. This was the first I've heard of, and when I learnt that the person concerned was one of ours, I felt truly awful. My thoughts and prayers are with the familes concerned, and I wish them good luck in finding the perpetrator of such a heinous crime.

I would first like to offer my condolences also, to Ryan, the family and all those close to you both.

It is never easy to lose anyone especially someone we love, and obviously nothing I or most likely any of us can say anything which will make it all better, but it's obvious to everyone you loved each other deeply and touched each other's lives in a profound manner. Don't let yourself get too wound up in anger about her passing, instead remember and cherish her as she was. No one can ever take away the happiness and love you shared.

Take care of yourselves and try not to get too overwhelmed, you have family, friends and a whole community which care about you.

Although we all experience the loss of loved ones at some point in our lives, none can ever share the same pain, anger and frustrations that you must be feeling now.
Nobody deserves an end like this.

I can't begin to imagine what could motivate someone to commit such an act of pure evil.

Though I'm not a religious man, I truly hope that her killer experiences Hell for this.

wow.... i just happened upon a website i had never been to before the other day and read this article and was completely confused by why and how someone would do something like this. to do such a personal attack on someone that the man never really knew... its so bizarre to be reading the same article on here in relation to someone from the website.

I remember thinking about it when I read the news... I know of a Ryan Garside from BT. I dismissed it because it's not the kind of thing that happens to us; it must be another poor sod. But apparently these things *do* happen to us, and it's not just something that you read about in the paper.

A horrible act has been comitted, and I can't imagine what your feeling. This is what every person fears about losing a loved one. I truely hope that you can make it through this, and that the person responsible can experience in 10 fold the pain and suffering he has brought upon others. Just remember that nothing that is true and real can be destroyed, and those of us that are gone are still really with us.

I did some internet detectivery after I heard about the news to confirm my suspicions of it being the Bit Ryan.
