Conidering most of you guys use Firefox these days, you'll be saddened to hear that the release date for Firefox 2.0 has been put back to October.

The new release date for Firefox 2.0 new release date will be October 24, coming bundled with a whole host of new features to keep the browser distinguisehd from both Internet Explorer 7 and Opera. Those include an integrated spell check feature, an anti phishing tool to warn users of malicious websites, better tabbed browsing and improved search functionality. Plans to upgrade other areas were ditched however, with both the new favourite and history features being left for a later date.

If you're the adventurous type and want to get hold of the beta, that has been put back too. You should now be able to get hold of that on August 23rd.

The battle of the browsers is hotting up nicely with Opera, Microsoft and Mozilla all trying to gain an advantage. Our bet is on Mozilla to make further ground on the market in the next year - but let us know your views in the forums.
