Crazy Shuffle owners show tasteful product application

Would you like a Shuffle with your coffee, sir?

The winner of the Mike Industries 'Make a Meatspace Shuffle' competition has been announced.

For those not following the competition, it revolved around some arty types creating mock-up iPod Shuffles out of food products.

The eventual winner was a Shuffle made out of bananas and spaghetti, by David Riskin. However, our favourite is the coffee-wafer Shuffle shown to the right, by Nikki Sevcik. Sitting in Starbucks this morning, it really looks rather appealing.

In (tenuously) related news, Merrill Lynch, a market analysis firm, said that the iPod Shuffle had captured over half the flash-based MP3 player market in the short time it had been available. Considering Apple already dominates the HDD-based market, that means that Apple technology is used by roughly two thirds of the MP3-listening public. That's a pretty outstanding number.

The 4GB iPod Mini is also reportedly outselling its 6GB big brother by a 3 to 1 ratio, according to AppleInsider.

Gives a whole new meaning to Do Not eat iPod shuffle.
