Capcom has announced Dead Rising 2 as a multiplatform title for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
Capcom has unveiled the much anticipated sequel to
Dead Rising recently and has impressed fans and proved its commitment to the PC Gaming Alliance by confirming a PC version of the game.
Dead Rising 2 will continue the major themes of the first Xbox 360 exclusive, those being zombies, chainsaws and the combination of the above.
The story for the sequel though will move on and away from that of the first game, this time casting players as a totally new character who has become trapped in a Las Vegas casino as the zombie infection starts to spread out of control.
The change in plot brings with it a number of gameplay alterations too, notably removing the photography objectives that were integral to Frank West's story in the first game. Replacing that though seems to be a greater focus on vehicular zombie killings, with a
a recent trailer showing the game to feature motorbikes and...hamster balls?
There's still no release date listed for the game on any platform, so we unfortunately don't know whether the PC version of the game will be released later than the console versions (which does seem likely) or not.
Could
Dead Rising 2 be a PC hit, or has that niche been filled by the likes of
Left 4 Dead? Let us know your thoughts in

The thing I didn't like about the first was the way you had to sit and play the game over and over again to get strong enough/high enough level to be able to take out the next objective. As much as I love bashing zombie brains, I don't feel like doing the same story arc over and over again, simply because you need to be at a certain strength and health to make it through an encounter, or be extremely lucky. Having stats and everything random when you leveled made that even more frustrating in some cases.
Killing a horde in a corridor and then turning around and having more pop right in was frustrating to. They should have to trickle back in through a spot left un-barricaded, or a broken window, or a door. Not just magically appear behind you after you've already cleared out that section three times.
Good game though, and good times, just hope they address some of the issues with the new one.
