AMD's new 45nm Phenom II's have already been listed for pre-order in the UK.

While there have been sporadic reports of online etailers listing AMD Phenom II CPUs and then dropping them from store fronts, the first to list here in Blighty - well ahead of schedule we might add - is More Computers, who is listing two models.

The first is listed as "AMD PHENOM II X4 920 2.8GHZ SKT AM2+ 8MB 125W PIB - HDX920XCGIBOX" at £191.44 inc. VAT (at 15 percent, not 17.5 percent), while the second is the "AMD PHENOM II X4 940 3.0GHZ BLACK SKT AM2+ 8MB 125W PIB - HDZ940XCGIBOX," which is a little more at £231.32 including VAT.

Intel's Core i7 920 is currently shipping for as low as £227.33 (inc. VAT), so nearly matching what More listed as an AMD Phenom II X4 940 3.0GHz Black Edition. This should mean the multiplier is unlocked on this processor, if More Computers' listing is correct.

However, having already seen an Aussie retailer hike the price in an early listing and AMD telling us many times in the past that any pre-release pricing is subject to change right up until actual products hit the channel, we suggest going outside and dumping your hand into one of the big yellow grit boxes, taking out a big fist of salt.

Once you've done that, come back inside and let us know your thoughts in the forums.

Hmm, the re-stock date of 15/12/08 is surprisingly specific, maybe an early Christmas present?

Even more-so since the Processors are embargoed until January the 8th.

Google shopping is now turning up scores of the things. Price seems pretty solid though.
