Ben Mansell's winning creature.

Ben Mansell's winning creature.

We've had a fantastic response to the competition we've been running the past few weeks in association with Electronic Arts to celebrate the release of Spore, Will Wright's long awaited life sim, by giving away a great prize!

The prize was an custom made one of kind Spore 3D model based on the winning design.

We received many creative entries for this popular competition but sadly there could only be one winner! Our congratulations go out to Ben Mansell of Godalming whose horned cow cross-breed creature caught the attention of the judges.

As always, we're working on our next few competitions, so there will be more great opportunities to win some great prizes on bit-tech soon. Keep your eyes peeled for more chances to win something in the near future!

Do you like Ben's creature design? Let us know in the forums.

Oh wow that is very cool, all the prizes have been UK only recently though :(

If the winners are chosen randomly, what need is there of judges?
Quote HugoB 13th September 2008, 01:39
WANT!

Also: please, oh please let the winner be a phallus monster!
Quote The_Pope 13th September 2008, 09:09
It's the judge who selects it at random, and therefore his decision is final. It's pretty standard competition T&Cs, albeit some legalese

Damn, not for us Aussies.

Somehow I have missed the part about where to get the tool, can someone point me to a download page? I assume it's free.

Quote Hiren 13th September 2008, 15:37

Quote andybones 14th September 2008, 10:15
will be getting this game soon.so might enter.
Quote Bauul 14th September 2008, 13:31
Only one entry per person? Argh, that sucks! I've got so many good ones! :)

I'll put some final touches to one tonight and then submit it.

CTRL-SHIFT-C "addDNA" (while within the creature creator) - still limited by the complexity meter though.
Quote jezmck 15th September 2008, 21:23
Is the postcard feature in the free creature creator?
Quote g3n3tiX 10th October 2008, 15:37
Funny creature, but I've seen ones I like more.
Congrats, and I want to see the model sent to the winner !
Quote Bauul 10th October 2008, 15:53
Woohoo! Yay! Thank you Bit! For those wondering, the creature (named DopDop) was my fiance's first attempt with the creature creater, and we had a ball making him, so as such is more of sentimental value than artistic merit. I can only presume it was the emotional back-story that got me the win! The model will make an awesome Christmas present, so thank you so much Bit-Tech. Whoop!
Quote DarkLord7854 10th October 2008, 17:23
Can we see all the creatures that were submitted?
Quote BurningFeetMan 11th October 2008, 00:08

The winner was chosen by EA afaik :) we just handed them the list of entries :D
Quote Hiren 11th October 2008, 18:14
Yup EA chose the entries themselves, I didn't even realise it was the same Ben until the news story was being prepped.
