Braid might end up on the PlayStation 3 eventually, but a WiiWare version is apparently out of the question.
Jonathan Blow, the developer behind
Braid, has said that the adorable platform puzzler could conceiveably move to the PlayStation 3 in the future, though not to the Wii. A PC version is confirmed to be on the cards, but Blow has not yet dated the PC version.
Braid is currently the favourite game in the office, combining old-school platform gameplay with some time-bending puzzles of mind-breaking proportions and an adorably twee presentation. The game is currently only available over Xbox Live Arcade and scored 10/10 and an excellence award in
our official review.
"
I talked to some folks at Sony but they were not interested in carrying the game," Blow told
Gamasutra.
"
Later on I talked to someone from a different division who *was* interested, but by then I had signed with Microsoft and started the XBLA port."
"
It's a limited exclusive, so if I were to try to make a PS3 or WiiWare version of the game, I would have to wait a little bit," Blow concluded.
Just because it's possible doesn't mean it's probable though. Blow would only concede that a PlayStation 3 version
might happen, but flatly said no to a WiiWare adaptation of the game, though he wouldn't say why.
Braid is currently priced at 1200 MS points and is well worth the cost if you're looking for a game to puzzle over with some chums. Tell us what you think about the game in

What a blow for the wii!
(It sounded funny in my head :))
Its just a 2d puzzle platformer you would have seen back in the 80's
I would make the argument that the Wii doesn't have enough good games, and especially lacking in good games not made by Nintendo. Its funny to see people try to write it off though, as if they don't want more good games on it.
It's a shame people are writing the Wii off as a games platform.
