Vadim Computers - another retailer to fall in the current economic downturn.

As of yesterday Vadim Computers, or V-Solutions LTD as the parent company is officially known, has gone into liquidation.

We've previously reviewed Vadim kit here on bit-tech and while we've loved some and not others, we can't deny that the company always pushed boundaries in the boutique PC sector, despite its small size.

Having seen Komplett recently leave British shores too, it comes as little surprise that some smaller companies are also feeling the pinch of the global credit crunch and general economic downturn. The sudden departure has come as a little surprise for some though and, as it explains in the news post, it certainly wasn't for lack of trying .

Seeking both loans and VC investment, but eventually attaining neither, was just one blow too many given that the company wanted to expand into the US and Europe with it's own line of exclusive cases to really set itself apart in the boutique market. Indeed, this isn't the first time we've seen something from Vadim that has tried to break the "PC builder" mold - late last year we initially looked at his own BlastFlow GPU block.

The brand and company are currently open for offers too, and Vadim claims to be moving to a different market sector - though he is refocusing on blastflow for the moment and has promised to let us see his latest work as soon as possible.

As always, bit-tech wishes him and his staff well in their future endeavors - pass on your thoughts in the forums.

Tax tobacco another 500% and we're all good... or something

People just don't have the money to splash out on nice cases, which is Vadim's main selling point.

If I had the money, I would for sure buy Vadim (brand is strong), any guesses how much hes selling for?

Nope.. People have the money splash out on crap cases and then some DIY tools to make it better!

Got to agree here that they literally priced themselves out of the market. As nice as some of their systems looked, enthusiasts know that a £5000 rig is going to be worth less than half that within 12 - 18 months.

It's always sad to see a company go under, but there is such a thing as trying TOO hard.

You must be joking right?

How can someone not have the money to buy a "nice case" (Vadim use Lian Li) BUT use £5000 for an entire system?

I remember the first BT review and seeing how they used hot glue to secure the window....tut tut tut!

Sad to see them go down the tube but they have a really small market. People are becoming more and computer savy and are willing to give DIY building a try.
