That picture offends me and, luckily, even though I haven't bought the game, I can still claim $5 for it.
Finally, it has been laid to rest - the Hot Coffee lawsuit is completely over. All that remains to be done is for the payment to be divided up.
The infamous class-action lawsuit, which revolved around unused sexual content in the game that was only accessible via a player hack, cost Take-Two $2.75 million in a the recent settlement and that money now has to be appropriated to all of those people who were offended by the content. Naturally, it doesn't seem to matter that in order to see the content you'd have to download a user made mod for your PC version of the game and consciously apply it to the game in order to get access to the unused code. That doesn't matter at all.
Take-Two, who avoided any liability as part of the settlement, are dividing the payouts as followed for US citizens, based on how strong the proof presented by the customer is.

Yes, we too like the fact that even if you have
no proof that you ever played the game then you can still make a quick buck.
Apparently, advertisements are now running in magazines such as
People, just so that everyone is fully briefed on their chance to make some moolah.
Payouts will cease being available after May 16th and more information can be found at
the official site, which is also where you should file your complaints.
What do you reckon to the whole kerfuffle? Will you be making a claim or do you refuse to acknowledge any of this as a legitimate reason for a lawsuit? Let us know what you think in
the forums.
Does amazon past orders count as a receipt?
Modified.
oops.. missed the part that its limited. when reading it first i was thinking its just what it cost them till now... but your right. logic dictates that they set a hard cap.
What I can't understand is people getting payouts for being offended when they had to jump through hoops to even activate the code in the first place.
Completely retarded. :(
I like the idea of making claims and donating it back to Rockstar. :D
yep, everyone should make a claim, throw it in one pot, then call rockstar and tell them they can have it back if they release a pc version of the next gta game at same day as console version.;)
I'd go along with that.
I don't think it's underhand to take advantage of a situation, though it was tongue in cheek ;). I'm a UK resident anyway. At least I purchased the game which is probably more than can be said for many of the players. (I think I read it was 25% of all software is pirated, the other day). I'll be buying GTA:IV too, when that's released for PC. Edit: also the money as already has been stated has already been deducted from Rockstar to give to game owners.
I do think it's absurd, because it's an 18 rated game, you get sex in films so why should it be offensive in a game?
afternote: I realise that only the scandals reach the media and internet over here, but it still makes me sick!
You have to remember America is a big country that is quite divided. I'm sure gamers really don't give a **** about this, like we don't. But there is a large moral slightly right wing religious part of the populous that has significant influence due not only to their presence but their political power. Ever heard of WAMP? White, anglo-saxon, male, protestant - the formula for practically every US President except I believe JFK who was Roman Catholic.
Don't get me wrong, there is a massive liberal force in the US which has contributed towards civil rights etc. but equally there is the 'Moral Majority'.
...over
...and over
...and over
Exactly. Pandora's Box, and all that jazz.
EDIT: This may be a stretch, but an analogy for this would be someone suing a fan manufacturer because they stuck their finger into it while it was running and was cut up. lol.
I for one will not be participating in this particular 'witch hunt'. And personally, I found Hot Coffee to be quite entertaining. But then again, I have a crass politically incorrect sense of humor.
I will third that!
Rockstar are actually really good for finishing games before they release them actually :)
It's all about how much money you have, how well know you are and how big of a contoversy you can stir up over here. It's so stupid. Hot coffee is not any worse than listening to charectors in the game say f*ck over and over. I am not going to ask for money back because it was not offensive. It was funny actually.
Anyone who claims their free $5 from this site should think themselves worse than a pirateer of computer games, the whole situation is ridiculous.

Wow. Totally irresponsible post in the sense of 'painting with a rather broad brush', there sir. Not all of us 'Yanks' are sue-happy, thank you very much. I find this as appalling as the rest of us do.
If anyone does collect those 5 dollars, You are gay.
Thsuper Gay.
And perhaps your dog will commit suicide because you are so very gay.
How is a picture that you saw on the internet of a black man riding a white chick OFFENSIVE TO YOU????
the only way it could be, is that you are jealous of the black man, because you have a small penis and know he has a larger one.
or you are just so irritated that he is not riding you instead of the Virtual Reality bitch.
Therefore this is my logic. You are gay.
Actually, I'm not going to complain. I though the mod was actually quite good!
someone should bring that up in the court case about a game as a defense. i bet jack thompson and that stupid thing from fox news never gt laid.
this is just stupid
