Jumbotron DS: for the giants among us

I would hate to see the person that this is a "handheld" for.

Someone very creative out there has built probably the largest working DS out there. The creater, whom we'll name Loopy (in absence of any real nickname or identifier) created the beast by using two screens from tablet PCs - and it actually works!

He connected the two up to a stripped down Nintendo DS by using a FPGA to do the conversion. Of course, something tells me the resolution may be a little low - but hey, such is life. Not much other information is available except for the fact that the DS still does all of the work and screen shots are available via a serial port.

Check out the pictures of the project below and make sure to check out the original site for a video of it in action. Maybe this guy will take it a step forward and build a housing with all the required hardware inside...now that would be freaking awesome.

It may completely defeat the purpose of the DS unless you're a giant, but is it cool or what? Let us (and the modder if he stumbles across this) know what you think of his work over in the forums or in the comment section below.
