Speculation continues; is this an official wax figure of Master Chief or...well, no, I suppose thats the only thing it could be.
Computer games are fast becoming a larger part of our culture and it's hard to deny that what was once a niche hobby taken up only be four-eyed hobbits has now become a more accepted past-time. Geek-chic is suddenly cool and everyone in the world seems to know who Gordon Freeman is and who Luke Skywalker's father is.
Nothing could have made this shift of view more obvious in fact than the rumour that Master Chief will soon be joining the gallery of celebrities and cultural icons housed at Madame Tussauds waxwork museum - a rumour which got kicked off after some a photograph of the wax model got posted on the internet.
The picture in question was posted by
Godfree over at GameTagRadio, who got the photo from a listener who had taken a backstage tour of the House of Wax and snapped this piccy of a Master Chief waxwork which seems to be nearing the end of its development.
The timing certainly makes sense -
Halo 3 has officially gone gold and will be on shelves in a matter of weeks, which would seem to indicate the waxwork is part of the launch campaign in some way.
If it isn't part of the launch campaign though then it's a bit of a let down - there are plenty of better computer game characters (ooh, controversial) who could justify a waxy replica. Waxwork
LeChuck, anyone?
Have you pre-ordered
Halo 3, or do you think the whole series is over-hyped nonsense? What did you reckon to the
multiplayer beta? Let us know in
the forums.
I think Gordon Freeman would be more appropriate.
However I dont really feel that Madame Tussauds is the right place for such a model, to have a wax model made of a celeb is from what I understood, is quite an honor I thought. So its a kind of a kick in the teeth to the celebs (even if some of them do need it), to insert a wax model from a game.
Can just imagine taking my kids in later years to Madame Tussauds discussing the models and the history behind them, look there is the Queen/Queen mother, there's old Arnie, and there is Hitler, oh and look there is the Master Chief from Halo X :|
It just dont fit in Madame Tussauds, maybe better suited for the episode Meltdown from Red Dwarf
QFT!!!!!
Freeman would be more ideal, yet I still feel that no game character should be in Tussauds.
Dude, where do you work?
The Train Baby! WOOOO!
The Devil's lair , aka MS headquarters in Reading :o
Got a huge Elite Daddy from Bioshock, and another large Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell also.
If I got time ill try grab some pics.

More like 6ft than 7ft I guess for Sam and Big Daddy.
;)
I don't know, the cheif is seriously cool, so i don't mind. I think there should be an inbuilt sensor so when someone walks by, it says a one liner or something.
Sam
Your Big Daddy has lost his little Sister. Is she in the air duct??
Unfortunately she did not make it as far as that before I stole the adam from her, oops, maybe I should have snapped a picture of her and hand it to Cohen to get some bonus points.
and i want spider spicers, they are the coolest.
Sounds a plan! Expense too, BT you really do spoil us.
hehe.
Delphium, if I worked with you, I'd be fired for stealing. Those are awesome to the max.
If this were true, I think Gordon Freeman would be more appropriate (I'm a PC gamer after all). I don't really think it's weird, or can you tell me whats more real about Brad Pitt or Beckhamm or Paris Hilton.
Wake me when they do Lara Croft.

And Joe, you're just DURTY
QFT! omg yes!
