If I could have a pirate name it would Muffin McSnugglecakes - what would yours be?

Pirates are a passion of ours and we're massive fans of everyone from Blackbeard to Guybrush Threepwood, so it was only natural that Bounty Bay Online would catch our attention and insist on devouring hours of our lives as it enters open beta stage.

Being the kind, considering people that we are, we thought the least we could do would be to offer our readers the same chance to have their lives destroyed by the strangely addictive piratey MMO.

So, we've teamed up with the landlubbers over at Chaloner Associates to give the you a chance to get in on the action. We've got three full copies of the game to give away, plus a whopping 50 keys for two free weeks of gameplay.

To be in with a chance of winning, all you have to do is answer the question below. The competition is open to everyone in Europe and the winners will be chosen randomly. Three lucky readers will get a copy of the full game in the mail, while fifty runners up will bag themselves a key for two weeks of free gameplay.

So, the question is: If you were going to be a pirate, what would your pirate name be?

Send your answer, along with your real name and address to competition@bit-tech.net with the word 'Pirate' in the subject line. Winners are randomly chosen, but you get extra points if you have an account name registered in the open beta before applying.

The competition will close on Tuesday, 18th September, with winners announced shortly after. In the mean time, if you have any questions then you can drop us a message in the forums.

The Rules
  • This competition is open to all European bit-tech forum members. (if you aren't already a member, it's free and simple to register!)
  • Emails must be received by 11:59 AM BST Tuesday 18th September 2007 to qualify.
  • Multiple entries will be disqualified - please include your forum username in your submission.
  • The winners will be chosen randomly from correct entries
  • The Editor's decision is final.
  • Prizes cannot be swapped for a cash alternative.
  • Your email addresses will not be passed on to third parties, but names and postal addresses of winners will be used for the purpose of arranging shipping. You do want the prizes, right?

Master Bates!
Seaman Stains!

I think I may have set the bar very low here

But if I wanted the prize (I don't really) I'd submit Captain Bitbeard

Ummm, I've played this exact game before, telling by the screenshots... -> http://bbo.yusho.de/en/Media/Screenshots/

It was called Voyage Century Online. -> http://vc.igg.com/pic_list.php?pic_type=screenshot

Look similar, anyone? Is this one of those open source game where people can modify it to suit their needs? Like Ragnorak Online or whatever? I mean, even the bloody website icon is the same...

I think your right Duste ... the GUI looks the same as well from the screen shots.

If this were Digg I'd so bury it down for inaccuracy. :P I mean, why pay for a free game? Lol.
