There will be a Crysis single player demo available for download on September 25th.
Electronic Arts has announced that a single player demo for
Crysis, the eagerly-anticipated first-person shooter from Crytek,
will be released on 25th September – the same day that
Halo 3 is released for Xbox 360 in the US.
The demo will feature the first level of the game, “Contact”, which is the same level that
we had chance to play at i31 earlier this month.
At the time, we thought there was still quite a bit of work to be done on the shooter, but I’m still pretty optimistic about the title considering the code we played on was pre-alpha, and let's not forget that I was a huge
Far Cry fan too.
Crytek is yet to announce the minimum and recommended system specifications, but we can expect to find out when the demo hits the net, if not before.
The game will be released simultaneously in Europe and North America on 16th November. Are you looking forward to it, and if so, will you be upgrading your system to play it? Tell us
in the forums.
Thanks to bit-tech forum member The Stig for the tip.
Is it confirmed that this game will run on DX10 only ? I was hoping to wait the first service pack before switching to vista for good.
Also given the valve survey from earlier only a small % of gamers can run dx10, this would be a stupid decision.
no, it was confirmed a long time ago that it would be both dx9 and dx10 :p
Here Here!!!
Though TBH, screw the demo, I want the full game already!! :'(
Ok ok, at least by the time ive finished Bioshock =]
Ewwww. Get that man a new keyboard!
It's DX10 and DX9 - the version we played at i31 was DX9 running on XP.
all that and a bag of chips :)
It's not necessary since it does everything XP can and more. The sooner you upgrade the sooner you get used to the changes :)
I upgraded to the PC in my sig to play this. Bioshock runs smooth with everything maxed out at 1600x1200 so hopefully Crysis should too.
So will I, but it'll be for Halo 3 :p
if the game is this beautiful then i am sold.
edit: i only hope there is a little gore....
But should be quiet intresting.
I don't remember it saying that Crysis was a DX10 only game, I'm pretty sure I saw in a recent interview with the developers in PC Gamer that it would be DX9 compatable - I'll have to check on that. I hope its not DX10 only, I'm not touching Vista with barge pole at the moment, there's still plenty of life left in XP yet.
As for Vista, I mean, take a look at one of the "flagship", "must by" games (I'm looking at you here Halo2!), come on guys what on earth were you thinking when you try to push a three year old game that runs on a X-Box as gaming highlight of your new wonder O/S? The original on the X-Box was a big disapointment in terms of gameplay so when they roll it out for the Vista launch and its fugly as well, what chance does it have.
Sheesh who the hell green lit that project? Did they think we'd fall over ourselves to buy anything with the Halo name slapped on it? You conned me once with the X-Box version, not this time - I guess I'm still a bit peeved that H2 was so poor. I didn't buy myself a 360 (yet) so H3 isn't tempting me at all.
the game is DX9 and DX10 and will work on XP and vista. Thay are not Daft by filltering out 90%-98% of the market, who ever thought up H2 to only alow it to staup on vista when the game is Native DX9 game {not even sure if the game supports DX10 for that matter} theres an patch for that any way to alow that to startup on XP
My sentiments exactly :/
