The highly anticipated Assassins Creed, which we managed to sneak a peek of at Ubidays recently, has finally had an official release date attached to it.

The game can be expected to hit shelves sometime this November, according to a press release from Ubisoft.

Assassin's Creed has been a top-secret for Ubisoft, and lead producer Jad Reymond has kept the project tightly under wraps, giving no hints about the games rumoured futuristic twist.

The bulk of gameplay for Assassin's Creed will revolve around exploring three cities "in the long hot summer of 1191" according to Jade, which places the game in the Third Crusade. Gamers will then take the role of Altair, a disgraced assassin who must make amends by putting an end to some key generals in the Crusades.

The game is set to showcase a new crowd technology, which realistically simulates the behaviour of large crowds of people. This forms a key aspect of gameplay as players must assess how best to navigate crowded areas and use the surroundings to their advantage.

Assassin's Creed will be arriving on the 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

“Assassin’s Creed is going to be a huge launch for Ubisoft this year along with the added prestige of being the start of this exciting new franchise that is bringing something completely new to the market.” said Tony Key, vice president of marketing for Ubisoft.
