And the winner is... Nathan Langford!
Today is the day that
bit-tech readers and
Supreme Commander fans alike have been waiting for. It has been marked on the calender for weeks. Forum posts have been flying back & forth in a Simpsons-eque "have I won yet? Have I won yet? Have I won yet?" fashion.
Since the early hours of this morning there has been furious F5 button mashing to see if this very news has been posted, as "winners will be announced on Tuesday 17th April".
But before we draw the winners let's find out if
you had the correct answers. We asked the following questions:
Question 1: The creative genius behind Supreme Commander is Chris....?- Taylor
- Tarrant
- Rock
Question 2: There are three warring factions in the game: Cybran Nation, Aeon Illuminate and the United Earth ....? - Alliance
- Knitting Circle
- Federation
Question 3: Supreme Commander is the spiritual successor to which RTS classic? Command & Conquer- Total Annihilation
- Doom
How did you do? We had a
huge number of entrants and not surprisingly there weren't many who got it wrong.
(Go on, tell 'em who won already! -ed)
Without any further ado, we can announce that the winner of the is.... <drumroll>...
Nathan Langford
Of course, we also have five runner's up prizes consisting of a copy of the game, a kick-ass T-shirt, and one of three Limited Edition mosaic lithographs. These go to:
- Munir Choudhury
- Gloria Dornin
- Dave Gullen
- Adrian Hamer
- James Richley
All winners will be contacted via email shortly. If your name matches a winner yet you have not received an email please check your spam filter. Questions can be posted in this
forum thread.
Once again, a special thanks to all sponsors involved in this promotion. Part 1 of the
Supreme Commander worklog is already online; keep an eye on the site for Part 2 coming soon!
Can I change my name by deed pool Geoff?
Now mate... have you really got space for a 6ft ACU? See, I've got this ACU shaped space in the corner of my room... ;)
But Nathan, just in case you really wanted a 6ft ACU to fit your own components in, I've got a computer case shaped spot in my room that could house the homeless bits :)
Worst part imo is that these competitions are open to anyone, is there any possibility that there will be in the future competitions which are only open to long standing forum members?
Congrats to the winners :) (See? Watch me put on a brave face!)
Well done
Damn damn damn damn damn!
:p
Now, would the winner please post pictures of his new rig for everyone to see???
Of course the SupCom mod is the coolest thing I've ever seen and I also conveniently have a perfectly shaped space in the corner of my room... in case you want to swap Nathan! :D
And yes, we expect pictures!
If you don't need it, send it to me :D
Yeah, certainly a possibility. The thing with this compo is that was, from the start, a THQ promotion, not a "bit-tech" thing. Sure, we did all the work but it's their baby.
Tim definitely has plans for you guys - don't worry.
OMG! A bit-tech semi newbie! He shouldn't win!
Only joking! Well done to you and all of the other winners!
That is all...
.......*sob
i'm sorry...
*ehm
congrats guys :)
And Huge congratts to Nathan and all the other winners.
Congratulations Nathan and the runners up!
Congrats to all though!
:p
*leaves*
Does he also have the right to reject the prospective home in favor of keeping it for himself? :p
Fixed :D
LOL
g0tembarrassment? :P
What did you say? I could have it? Thanks!
Again, joking (duh). How far through are you?
Congratulations Nathen you lucky ... .. . .....
I will indeed be posting pictures once I get my hands on it.. According to my email though, it's not finished yet, so I guess we'll all have to wait a bit.. :-)
Thank you bit-tech! No way I could afford the parts, let alone such a cool case on a student budget!! Wohoo!!! :-)
Also: good job on the case GoTaLL, because I've been looking at the work in progress and it looks awesome! (also, HUGE!!)
Do I have space for it? No! Will I find space for it, even if it means sleeping on my couch? Yes!!
Congrats.
