Intel leaps ahead into Web 2.0.

Intel has put together a suite of 'Web 2.0' applications designed to bring businesses kicking and screaming into the age of the new web.

It made the announcement at the Web 2.0 conference in San Francisco, which is going on this week. It has worked to integrate the applications together into a coherent package.

Included in the bundle is SocialText, a Wiki-like piece of software; NewsGator, an RSS reading package; SimpleFeed, for creating RSS feeds for your own content; and Movable Type, an easy-to-use blogging package from Web 2.0 gurus SixApart.

You can check out the details on the package here. Intel is calling it SuiteTwo.

Is the use of 'new' web technologies a fad in business? Maybe not - companies are discussing the use of blogs to publish financial information.

Let us know your thoughts over in the forums.
