Utterly bonkers. End of an era. Etc.

Visitors to ATI.com will be in for a shocking surprise this morning.

Gone is the red heaven of the Canadian company and in is the cool green of its new processing overlords.

The tagline is The New AMD, which you can see for yourself if you head on over.

How times change, eh? Give us your acquisition thoughts over in the forums. See that nice little button on the top right? Click it!

The button sucks! :D
Quote Muunsyr 26th October 2006, 14:37
I spent a surprisingly long time looking for the button on amd/ati's page. Then I thought you meant the close button. Then i went to leave a message here and discovered what you meant...

Anyway, it does look weird. I wonder what nVida think? I am also interested to see what becomes of this merger.

nVidia should go to intel, would make it all more interesting :D

As long as they keep their cards red, I'll live.

But the site looks bad now.

P.S. I'm an Intel+ATI guy.

Hrm, you really confused me there with that button. I thought you meant on the ATI site, and was clicking on the search button.
Then I was about to PM somebody about the lack of discussion link.
I like the old link :)

Don't like the new site, much preferred the old one.
Quote customh 27th October 2006, 00:03
i agree on the button, for the past few news articles i have been befuddled, the old way was better.
Quote specofdust 27th October 2006, 00:17
How was the old way better? It was just a smaller font and no button. I like the changes made in that department, and I think they make things way simpler for newbs who aren't used to knowing where to look for a discuss this article type link.
Quote customh 27th October 2006, 00:42
i guess, it wasnt small font, it was blue and at the end of the article, therefore more noticable.
Quote Aankhen 27th October 2006, 02:52
I was confused for a sec, then I saw the link. :) Note that habit was the only reason why I was confused... the link is a good idea!

EDIT:
It would be useful if the link were duplicated at the bottom, though, that way I wouldn't have to scroll up again. :D

Agreed. Put it back.

Not that I spent much time at ati's page in the past but it should definately have more red.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AMD has fully made it clear to the world now it has taken over ATi and not just merged.
Quote Evenge 28th October 2006, 00:09
Interesting (and also bit frightening ) to see what Ati+Amd fusion will produce.
Quote xion 28th October 2006, 10:07
it will be interesting to see what difference gpu integration will give, thinking of that AMD X4 dual cpu+gfx+ppu!
