Project: 6th GeN

He found his way into October 2008's Mod of the Month with Project 5th GeN and he's back again with a new super storage tower aptly named Project 6th GeN. This time he's aiming for yet more storage, enough room to house three separate PCs and a revamped cooling design which will include some pretty significant water-cooling with no less than three triple 120mm radiators.

Project 6th GeN is certainly shaping up to be just as epic as its predecessor and having learnt lessons from 5th GeN, this latest monstrosity is definitely one to watch. Just don't ask what he's going to use all that storage for...

We've missed our sexy renders recently but I suppose we've been spoilt with the likes of Q-vent 900 by FrooP. Luckily grevaeg has been hard at work with some fascinating designs for Project 6th GeN and he's also landed some cracking sponsorship deals too so this should hopefully turn into a monster PC, or should we say PCs.

Just look at all those hard drives! There will be 44 in total including four 1.5TB Seagates, six Western Digital 1TBs, eight Western Digital 750GB drives and a crazy sixteen Western Digital 500GB drives. Of course to house them all, you'll need to think about some serious hard drive racks and for these grevaeg chose Lian Li hard drive cages - quite a few of them.

As if three separate PCs wasn't enough, grevaeg decided he needed a fourth! This was slightly different though as he would be separating the screen from the laptop and using it to control the screen which would be mounted to Project 6th GeN. The case itself is to be made of a series of aluminium rods bolted together to form a frame, the beginnings of which can be seen above.

Some of the numerous triple 120mm radiators are shown above. Project 6th GeN will need plenty of cooling to handle its three PCs. Also above we can see two radiators located between two sections of frame. We certainly haven't seen anything like this before!

If you'd like to vote for grevaeg's towering, capacious Project 6th GeN, please head over to our forums and don't forget to check his project log for the most up to date images.
