Project - C-Macc's 2

The original C-Macc's, or Complete - Multi Arcade Console Computer, was a massive hit and was featured in a quite a few places, not to mention Custom PC's Reader's Drives in Issue 62 in November last year. The very original design that was carried out flawlessly from planning to completion still looks great but mayhem is back with C-Macc's 2 'The Revenge'.

Mayhem went back to basics for this new mod which now features a totally custom case and control interface and to be honest some of the images in his blog look frighteningly complicated with masses of components and associated wires. There's also a brilliant video of C-Macc's including an animated Sketchup render of C-Macc's 2 in mayhem's project log so be sure to check it out for this an loads more images.


A cautious first step is usually a good idea and mayhem set about creating plenty of preliminary designs in Sketchup. As we can see, C-Macc's 2 looks very different from the standard arcade machine design of the original. In fact it looks like a genuinely futuristic arcade machine - we like it!


Normally a table full of components would include things like hard drives and graphics cards, but here we get some idea of the amount of hardware that will be involved in C-Macc's2. On the right is the beginnings of the control panel with a few buttons inserted. This paves the way for, well, more buttons and a few joysticks too!


Another addition are some custom designs that will feature on C-Macc 2's panels to emphasise the purpose of the machine - gaming! We're loving the Xenomorph design. To the right is the touch screen control panel which has received a few layers of undercoat.


One last look at how things are progressing before we leave you to vote in peace. The case is already coming along nicely. On the left we can see a pre-paint frame with main control panel. On the right, mayhem has attached the touch screen control panel, a silver finish to the main control panel an plenty of panels have also received a lick of paint! This is going to be epic.
