My plan was to put the DVD at the bottom of the case, but as the build went on it became clear to me that it just would'nt fit. I had to move it to the top. This made the top panel-design a bit more complicated than I first thought.

Of course, two pieces of acrylic would make a good starting point. I used rather large M8 bolts to hold them in place. Looks like pair of Klingon warblades!

The plastic tray for the drive has a small edge in the front, which I will use to hook it onto a piece of aluminium.

Then I added some aluminum sheets to cover the sides of the top on either end of the drive.

And finally a stylish black front for the drive. I used opaque 3mm acrylic, which I bent using a heat gun and some clamps.
