Ready for CeBIT

Carbon-Li by Ediejo Final assembly (Part 2)

With the case by-and-large complete, all that was left was to fill up the cooling loop. And with that done, the case was ready for its journey to Hanover for CeBIT 2007.

As you can see, the final product is a stark contrast to the bare, black Lian Li 201b that Ediejo started with.

A little later, a little more

After CeBIT 2007 was over, Ediejo entered Carbon-Li into the Dutch Casemodding Championship. But before he could consider the case truly ready to enter, he had to do a little tweaking.

The main tweak involved covering the wires that were left showing around the HDD assembly, which Ediejo considered to still look messy (particularly compared to the rest of the case). Fortunately, a single piece of carbon fibre solves a lot.

In fact, he was able to kill two birds with one stone - a little additional wiring of some LEDs into the new piece made the previously very dark HDD area brighten up, showing off his floating drives and getting rid of a previously very annoying dark spot.

The case did very well in the contest, netting third place overall.
