To create a nice contrast effect, I wanted to layer acrylic on top of the aluminium panelling. I hand-cut the orange acrylic.

Bending this kind of polycarbonate acrylic really doesn't require too much heat, just a vice and some patience. In the final picture, I can see the effect in action, with some aluminium layered on top of the acrylic on top of the aluminium!
