Here you can see the first test fitting. Four holes in the front panel and four long bolts and it's looking good. As you can see, Nick has added a cypress grill to both sides of the fan - this was for cosmetic reasons as much as practical. In other words, it keeps the fan cable-free (and finger-free) from both sides, but also it looks cool.
Time to refit the glossy black fan blade - nice! But does it still work? Phew! I mean, of course it does...
The fan chassis needed painting black to match the blades. The question is: how do you let the paint dry when you have to paint something all over? There are many solutions but here was Nick's: suspend them from an uplight using a length of wire. Hey, it worked and he didn't get any primer on the lamp, so who's worried?
The important thing is the result and they came out great.
