We did not use just any old bullets for this project: the ammo was especially made by a friend who happens to be a munitions expert. The bullets are .303 calibre, as used in World War II in such weapons as the Lee Enfield rifle. Both the projectile tips and the casings are real, although the casings are empty of any explosive.

Just in case you were wondering, the primers had already been fired.

I decided that pop riveting was the best method of securing the bullets to the case. This entailed drilling a hole in each bullet to take the rivet. My "friend" had joked that one of them was still live but would not say which one!

Luckily for me there were no nasty surprises whilst drilling the ammo.

Suitably positioned holes were drilled in the case lids and the bullets riveted in place.

The final touch was to make and fix the Hidden & Dangerous 2 logo. Take 2 supplied a high resolution logo image which was resized and printed on to clear cling film similar to this method. The printing material was supplied by DC Data.

The printed image was then cut to size and stuck on to the mirrored front.

The finished ammo boxes. My original design had removable end covers at each end of the cases with rope handles attached but given that fact that these PCs were meant for LANs the idea was dropped on the grounds that they would lessen the cases robustness and not to mention end up getting lost!
