What's Inside?

Lian Li uses a Globe Fan - model number S1352512H. This is classed as a sleeve bearing fan rated to 1,500RPM with 106.86CFM and a noise rating of 29.2dBA at full speed. Lian Li significantly clocks this fan speed down though, to a point where the noise level is certainly sub-20dB.

The sleeve bearing is better for silence, but it doesn't have the lifespan of ball or rifle bearing and fluid bearings are generally quieter - like Be Quiet! uses. It's not the first time we've seen a Globe Fan employed by a power supply manufacturer, so the company is clearly popular enough to be used in several brands of PSU.


The heatsinks included to cool the MOSFETs are a decent size with a large finned surface area and are actually made of copper (we're quite sure, although not certain) instead of the usual aluminium fins used in most other units. What's more, the fins are clear coated to prevent corrosion.

The capacitors are Japanese made and all the components are held in firmly except for the one we found was easily wiggled under the heatsink fins. The PCB is Lian Li branded, although if Lian Li designed it as well we're unsure why there are spaces on the PCB left for extra cables. Maybe Lian Li will use the same PCB for a 1,000W model in the future?
