Handbrake H.264 Encoding

Our test uses HandBrake - an open-source, GPL-licensed, multiplatform, multithreaded video transcoder, available for MacOS X, Linux and Windows - to encode a high resolution MPEG-2 video using the H.264 codec. This primarily tests multi-threaded CPU and memory subsystem performance.


The MSI manages to shave a solid 25 seconds off the average encode time compared to the Asus, affording a four percent performance increase.

Both motherboards perform identically on average in the image editing test - there's not a whisker between them!

Multitasking Performance

In multitasking conditions though there is a whisker between them in favour of the Asus, the half a second gap is negligible in the real world.
