The Phenoms don't score so highly in Everest because only a single CPU is stressed and the northbridge frequency is far lower than that of the AMD Athlon X2s. While the read speeds of the Wolfdales remain consistent with the previous generation of Conroes, according to to Everest, the write and copy speeds have been largely improved.

However, the Wolfdale latencies are also slightly higher too compared to equivalent clocked Conroes.
The Wolfdales come out on top in all accounts, even the lowest clocked E8200 is ahead of the fastest Conroe in these synthetic bandwidth scores. In contrast, the latest Sisoft Sandra (1312) loads all the Phenom cores and rewards it with a much higher general performance, however the low 1,066MHz FSB of the Intel quad-cores makes them somewhat bandwidth starved.

In contrast again, Sisoft Sandra reports the Wolfdales as sometimes having a lower latency than Everest reports. The E8200 is 1ns slower, whereas the E8400 is 2ns faster than the equivalent clocked Conroe.
