Computex 2016 - EVGA

Centre-stage at EVGA's suite was the DG-87 chassis, with DG standing for Designed for Gaming. This is the top-end case within a range that will include DG-84, DG-85 and DG-86 also, each coming in at different sizes with different prices. EVGA said pricing will range from £89 to £149 as an introductory offer when it launches around September, raising to MSRPs of £129-£189 after the offer expires. The DG-87 features easy access panels and has a steel and plastic construction. Messy components like the PSU and drives are hidden from view, and there's plenty of room for cable management as well. There is onboard monitoring and control of the intake and exhaust fans, and temperature can also be monitored too.

EVGA also had various GTX 1080 models on display, including the SC, FTW and Hybrid editions. These all feature custom coolers and overclocks, with the FTW also having a custom PCB. We'll be looking at an EVGA GTX 1080 shortly so you can expect further details then.

The only new motherboard on show was the X99 FTW K, which is really the same as the X99 FTW but with added Killer LAN functionality.

In terms of PSUs, EVGA said its SuperNova G2 PSUs had been especially successful for it, and the new GL range will add LEDs to the design. The actual upgrade to the range, the SuperNova G3 series, retains the 80 PLUS Gold rating and will hit the same capacities and price points, while having better efficiency and performance and while being slightly smaller, despite maintaining the same fan size.
