Computex 2016 - SilverStone

Like many, SilverStone was using VR as a means of drawing weary Computex attendees and journalists to its stand. This is because it has produced a modified version of the Milo ML07 chassis to act as a portable VR unit once an appropriate system is inside. The so-called ML07-VR is a prototype case and comes with a 1080p IPS panel mounted to the side, and this is low power enough to be fuelled by a single USB port. Inside, it now fits an ATX power supply and an extra 2.5in drive at the expense of a 3.5in mount as well as the slimline optical drive. SilverStone is mainly targeting VR developers and those who are showcasing VR at shows like Computex. They are looking at a Q4 release date and pricing is yet to be confirmed.


Next, we saw the SX-800-LTI power supply, an SFX-L PSU capable of delivering 800W with 80 Plus Titanium efficiency over a single rail. When it launches in Q4 for under $200, it will be the most powerful and highest efficiency PSU of its size.


Lastly, we saw the Primera PM01-RGB tower chassis. This is, as you've probably guessed, the RGB version of the recently released PM01. The top and bottom light strips and three front fans were all RGB illuminated now, and the RGB lighting was shown to be working and controlled by the header on an MSI motherboard. SilverStone is still working out the finer details, like what to charge and whether it will give the RGB treatment to both the lighting strips and the fans or just the strips in the final version.
