Coolermaster iGreen Power 600W

Coolermaster claims this is the most efficient power supply on the market, with 85% of the power in being converted straight into power out to the machine - that should mean less heat and lower electricity bills. But can it hold up to our inspection?

It isn't a modular power supply, and the cables themselves are rather more standard. Coolermaster provides a happy mix of cables and, as with the Corsair, there are enough outputs to feed two graphics cards and keep a plethora of drives in wattage.

Again, this unit has a 120mm fan on the bottom which Coolermaster describes as 'whisper quiet', and we'd agree with that assessment. Looking inside, the components don't look quite as high quality as we've seen, but would appear to do the job.

Coolermaster stands behind the PSU for the standard one year, although we can't find any specific information about that on the website or the packaging. What the unit does have, which is quite handy, is an LED on the back that lights up when it is running out of specification, for example due to load or heat. When that turns on, you know you're starting to see a problem - a useful indicator.
