Without being rude to Gigabyte, it isn't the first company that comes to mind when you think of PSUs, right? That's because the company's PSU branch is literally about two months old!

Even from here, I can hear a tone of caution from some readers - can a division younger than the unwashed socks from the floor of your bedroom, really hold a candle to the big boys in PSU manufacturing, with years of experience under their belts? Or has Gigabyte taken a step back, seen what everyone else is missing and found a niche to fill? Let's find out...

What's in the Box?

  • Extra cables in cable holder sleeve
  • Internal to external USB adapter
  • Software CD
  • Installation Manual
  • Four case screws
The box is generally clear and informative, showing you what the PSU looks like as well as being clearly labelled with the unit's features. It's packed exceptionally well, with thick foam surrounding the PSU entirely so it should arrive to your door perfectly intact.

There are no zip ties or Velcro provided for cable management, however these sorts of things aren't that expensive anyway. It seems strange to find a software CD in the box but this PSU has Windows monitoring software included which we will come to later.

The cable sleeve may not be as exotic as a Tagan leather case, but it does the job just fine keeping all the extra bits together. The USB bracket is useful if you don't have any spare USB pin-outs on your motherboard and need to use an external port instead. You don't have to use the inbuilt software at the cost of a USB port though for the PSU to work though.
