Cold Lava

Project log: Here

There's a seriously busy workshop in forum user Bad_cancer's back yard. There's plenty of modding going on and one thing that caught our eye was this huge radiator which has received plenty of attention in the project log. You can see the size of it compared to the case below on the right.

As it's so huge, the first thing to happen was to cut it in half to make it more manageable. Bad_cancer then made a custom shroud for it along with re-plumbing the ends of the internal chambers which were exposed.

Thankfully the insides appear to be copper so there shouldn't be any issues with galvanic corrosion. There's usually a picture that defines a project and we suspect this one below of the illuminated radiator might be it - stunning.

The effect was created by installing LEDs, the many wires for which were tidied and routed neatly out of the way. Below we can see the beginnings of a custom reservoir Bad_cancer made. This included creating the dual 5.25in bay-reservoir itself out of sheets of acrylic, sealing the edges with silicone adhesive and tapping the threaded holes.

As if this wasn't enough, there are also some custom-made waterblocks on show too, again with their own tapped holes for barbs and some funky looking contact plates. One thing is sure though, there's loads of stuff going on, so we highly recommend taking a look at the Cold Lava project log.
