The frame was the beginning of the project. Chris notes in his log that this is where every possible error managed to show itself as the project progressed. "This is where shortcuts killed me," he said.

FiveWood's motherboard tray was assembled using three different types of wood. A hole was cut on the back of the tray to allow for the large CPU cooler's mounting plate, as well as keeping circulation around the power regulation.

The backpanel is made of mahogany and walnut. Chris joined strips of different types of wood together to form one board, which is what gives the contrast and variety.

By the time that the back panel was added to the mod, it had been through three revisions. Not because it was wrong - it was actually because it was dropped. Chris managed to build this case without a lot of actual accidents, but the back panel seemed to catch them all!
