Mod Gods: a look at the best ever PC modss

It's time for the latest installment of Mod Gods - our series of articles looking back at work from the best modders in the business that have showcased their work on bit-tech. We've had some spectacular mods and scratchbuilds on show in Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3. We've got more of the same this time as we delve deep into bit-tech's past and into the depths of our project log forum.

As always, if you have any projects you'd like to remind us about, drop us a line at modding@bit-tech.net or let us know in the comments.

First up this month is Team Fortress 2 Sentry Mod by Ton Khowdee, AKA TiTON - see bit-tech's feature: here. A well-known maker of Valve-inspired mods, TiTON's effort here is one of the best examples we know of, for a project to focus almost entirely on accurately depicting an object, rather than adding hordes of gear and cooling hardware.

It's one of the best game-themed projects we've ever seen. Despite the Shuttle PC case located on top of the turret, suggesting this is a mod, not a scratchbuild, the actual hardware is located in a different section of the case.

While the case at first appears to limit the use of high-end hardware, TiTON still managed to use an EVGA micro-ATX motherboard, a Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT graphics card and an Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 CPU - not bad harward at all at the time.

Also make sure you check out his Team Fortress 2 Dispenser Mod - we've got the full feature here.

Head over the page to see more Valve-inspired awesomeness and a tribute section to one of our favourite modders.
