bit-tech Mod of the Year 2008
Wow, it's been an incredible year in the world of modding here at bit-tech
, and as it comes to an end we're running our annual Mod of the Year competition to celebrate all the blood, sweat and tears put into the many mods finished in 2008. We've scoured the archives and have included all the featured mods from this year, plus the mod of the month winners that have both finished their mods and were completed to a standard fitting in with the rest of the competition.
Just like usual, we've partnered up with the industry's finest to get the largest prize bounty to date! We've got prize packs for first, second and third place, as well as voter prizes for one lucky person to be chosen at random every two days, for the two weeks the competition is running. This means the earlier you vote - the better chance you have of winning!
While you may already know who you want to vote for, we encourage voters to scour every page and take in the skill and excellence of each contender - you've got three votes to make after all!
Everyone is eligible to vote entirely for free, the only condition is that you are signed up to the completely free and informative bit-tech newsletter
, so we can make sure there is one vote per person (no cheating!) and so we know how to contact you should you win a prize! Of course, if you don't feel that the newsletter is worth your time, you can always unsubscribe from it after voting.
Sadly, we've had to implement this in order to prevent fraudulent votes and gaming of the system. Last year, we had to go through every vote and ended up removing many thousands that either came from one IP or had an invalid email address - a task that took not just a couple of hours, but a couple of days to complete.
Before we're getting onto the mods, we've got one last request - we're calling for your eyes to spot any great mods for 2009! Simply email firstname.lastname@example.org
with completed mods or potential mods you think are truly excellent and worthy of being on the front page of bit-tech
, and we will get on it!
