Richard Garriott, one of the leading video game designers and project lead on MMO Tabula Rasa, is going to the International Space Station in October 2008 as the first 2nd-generation American astronaut.

To celebrate this event, NCsoft is launching ‘Operation Infinity’ - a Tabula Rasa promotion in which Richard will take with him, and store in outer space, the history of humanity’s greatest achievements including human genome data and personal messages from people all over the world.

To mark this unique event NCsoft is giving away 2,000 trial keys to the popular MMO Tabula Rasa. All you have to do to get hold of a code is go here and then download the game client from here.

Until the 31st August gamers with an active trial or retail account can visit the Operation Infinity website and upload their character data into the infinity drive, which Richard will then take into space. People can also post personal messages, vote for their favourite songs, films, composers - whatever, really.

More information on the event can be found on the official site, but don't be afraid to let us know your thoughts in the forums.
