Prey was released almost two years ago now and, despite boasts from 3D Realms' Scott Miller that a sequel was in the works, no information has slipped out about the game in the last year or so.

Until yesterday, when new details about the story of Prey 2 and some concept art for the game emerged on a Radar Group website. Unfortunately, the site was removed shortly afterwards - but not before ShackNews picked up on the info.

Supposedly, the story for Prey 2 will feature Tommy, the plane-hopping hero of the first game, escaping "an Earth that no longer wants him for a future that cannot survive without him."

The story details, while unconfirmed, certainly appear strong when accompanied by the concept art - and Kotaku has established that more details on the sequel, along with more art, will be coming from official sources later this week.

ShackNews meanwhile has indicated that the game will be released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
