Engadget delivered this bit of news to the Internets yesterday and immediately our envious jaws dropped to the floor.

This Legend of Zelda DS Lite mod is currently being sold on eBay, with a portion of the profits being given away to the Child's Play charity, run by those loveable scamps at Penny Arcade.

The Child's Play charity works to provide games and consoles for children in hospitals across the world and have currently raised over $1,024,400 for the cause. Donors can even purchase specific titles for hospitals close to them by using Amazon wish lists set up by the participating wards.

The DS mod comes with two custom painted styli (the plural of stylus), a customized charging stand and a die cast sword and shield emblem. The emblem is backlit by a white LED calibrated to get just the right brightness for solid gaming experiences.

The only thing it's missing is the upcoming DS title, The Legend of Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass.

The mod was created by the same dremel-wielding genius who made the Zelda Wii mod, which featured a detachable version of the Master Sword for those who needed something to pick their teeth with between gaming sessions.

Think you might be making a bid on this portable beauty, or are you going to try and make something even better? Either way, be sure to let us know in the forums.
