Since the release of Crysis: Warhead
over a year ago, things have been quiet on the Crysis
front. A sequel was officially announced
at E3 2009 last summer, with Cevat Yerli, CEO and President of CryTek saying “This is not only the next game in the Crysis franchise, it’s the first title we are developing for consoles and the first title being built on CryEngine 3.
It’s now become clear just how much consoles will be a big feature for Crysis 2
, as the first details of the game are set to appear in PlayStation: The Official Magazine. As reported over on The Tech Report
, the editor posted a picture of the March issue’s cover on Twitter
, which features a soldier clad in the famous Crysis nanosuit.
As well as confirming the game will show up on the PS3 (unless of course Crytek are going to have a laugh and enable the three people with the PSP Go to play it?), the cover implies the game will see the evil squiddy aliens of the first two games making it off their island playground and heading to New York City.
