Roman soldier brawler and Xbox One launch title Ryse: Son of Rome will be heading to the PC later this year.
The PC version will include all of the DLC that has been released on the Xbox One since its launch last November as well as a multiplayer map and a special sword which were only included in the special edition. This new version will also support 4K resolutions on the PC.
’We’ve given our team the opportunity to show what CryEngine can really achieve, without compromising quality, thanks to the incredible hardware avialbale now to PC gamers,’[i] said Crytek director of business development Carl Jones. [i]’Ryse will be a benchmark PC graphics showcase this year and probably for a long time in the future.’
Developer Crytek will be publishing the digital version of the game with Deep Silver handling the retail boxed version. Crytek and Deep Silver have had other business dealings recently with Deep Silver buying the Homefront IP and Crytek UK.
A deal to make a sequel to Ryse was reported as falling through earlier this year when Crytek refused to surrender the rights to the franchise to Microsoft.
Rumours and reports circulated last month that Crytek was in serious financial trouble, resulting in several key staff in its US branch leaving the company and several staffers complaining of payroll being missed. Initially, Crytek denied these reports but more recently announced that the company’s financial situation is now stable.
