According to legal papers that have emerged from the on-going lawsuits between Bethesda Softworks and Interplay, Bethesda has a secret MMO game in the works which is very similar to World of Warcraft Online.

The project has apparently been in the works since 2006 and involves around a 100 developers and a "budget of tens of millions of dollars", according to VG247.

The exact identity of the MMO isn't given away in the court documents, but VG247 claims it has learned that it is a new Elder Scrolls MMO.

The other possibility is that Bethesda is working on a Fallout MMO secretly. Bethesda bought the entire Fallout franchise from a faltering Interplay in 2004 and licensed the rights to make an MMO back to Interplay as part of the deal, supposedly preventing Bethesda from releasing a Fallout MMO of it's own. Then again, Bethesda is in the middle of a lawsuit that could terminate Interplay's right to make Fallout MMO...

Bethesda hasn't commented on the issue, but it did quietly register TheElderScrollsOnline.com a while ago too.
