News has been filtering down through the gaming grapevine that Lost Planet, the gorgeous third-person shooter for the Xbox 360, will be coming to the PC later this year.

Originally reported over at IGN, the move marks a continuing effort by Capcom to make their games available on multiple platforms.

Capcom will also be bringing Devil May Cry 4 to the PC and Xbox 360 in addition to the Playstation 3. Sony has traditionally enjoyed the franchise exclusively.

PC gamers will be happily able to boast some major improvements over the console version of the game. In addition to increased resoloution and the improved weapon effects made possible by DirectX 10, the original development team is being reunited to create additional content for PC players.

Capcom will also be improving the controls for the game, allowing players to use the mouse to aim and turn with, something which was originally difficult on a 360 controller.

Did you pass on Lost Planet the first time around thinking it would always be a 360-only title? Looking forward to the extra eye-candy of the PC version? Share your thoughts in our News Discussion forum.
