GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2GB - Overclocking

With a low TDP and, we hoped to find the GTX 660 2GB had plenty of extra performance left in tank. At stock we already found it boosted up to 1,071MHz in some games, so having finished our first benchmark run, broke out EVGA Precision for some overclocking shenanigans.

However, we found the card's power boost option (where you're able to adjust how much power above its set TDP the card can consume) capped at 110%. While this still allowed us to increase the base clock by 120MHz and the memory clock by 115MHz (460MHZ effective), we quickly found the GPU capped by its power limits as the GPU boosted up to 1,178MHz.

At these settings the card was perfectly stable with not a sign of visual artefacts, so are confident that, if the 110% limit were lifted, the card could go even quicker. Nevertheless, the overclock we applied still boosted performance markedly, increasing the minimum frame rate by 12 per cent to 28fps in Battlefield 3 at 2,560 x 1,600 with 4x AA.
