Performance Analysis

The CPU delta T sat in an above-average position of 53°C, which is still a few degrees away from the top spot, but it's a greater distance still above the poorer-performing cases out there. The nearest competition is the Fractal Design Meshify S2 and Define S2, which sit either side of the Thermaltake case in terms of price, although both are admittedly far quieter.

Despite our concerns over the large fans, the sheer amount of airflow that noise translates into saw the GPU delta T sit just 3°C off the top spot, bettering both aforementioned cases as well as the Kolink Phalanx - another RGB-laden case - as well as the Be Quiet! Silent Base 601 and Phanteks Eclipse P600S. A good result here for Thermaltake, then, although not without a compromise on the decibels thanks to the combination of full-speed fans behind a very open mesh.

Conclusion

In spite of the excellent cooling and decent water-cooling support, we're struggling a little in terms of working out who would potentially buy the Thermaltake Commander C35 TG ARGB Edition. Sure it has RGB lighting, which admittedly does look rather snazzy and vibrant, and yes it can house a water-cooling system while offering decent air-cooling too, but the rest of the chassis looks and feels decidedly bland and lacks the kind of refinement we'd expect from a case at this price. It's a small issue - the case is after all solidly built - but we can't help but feel that given the cash, we probably wouldn't opt for it over the competition. There's also the issue of fixed fan speeds and above average noise levels, but if this doesn't bother you and you just want a case that offers tasteful and flexible RGB lighting with great cooling and water-cooling support, it definitely comes recommended.
