JetArt graphics coolers

Price: Around £15 each

JetArt is a Taiwanese company that makes all kinds of computer coolers. The guys there sent us over a couple of graphics coolers to take a look at.

The first is the VC3600. It's a cooler in the style of the Arctic Cooler, with a large heatsink sat next to a fan that blows hot air out the back of the unit. Rather than fitting flush on the chip, the JetArt has a large circular copper section that butts against the GPU.

The VC2000 is a smaller variant. It uses a larger fan that is noisier.

Both coolers also come with thermal paste and some memory heatsinks. Neither are particularly effective. In fact, for the amount of noise both the heatsinks produce, they should be a lot better than they are. Whilst you may find some benefit to replacing a 6600 or 7600 cooler with one of these, anything with a 'decent' heatsink - such as the 6800 or 7800 - will not benefit from either of these JetArt coolers.

The other problem is that the sublime Arctic Cooler is available for around the same money. The AC is generally regarded as the best graphics cooler without resorting to watercooling. JetArt hasn't come up with anything that can displace that.
