BIO-MECHANICAL KHAOS

Worklog: Here

Bit-tech forum regular and modding supremo mnpctech caught our eye yet again with one of the first mods we've seen to use NZXT's gargantuan Khaos case. If you haven't seen or heard of it yet, mnpctech has made a video that's well worth checking out in his project log.

The first half of this mod's name comes from the bio-mechanical theme mnpctech settled on - it features the kind of horrific mutilation and alterations we've come to love from sci-fi baddies such as the Borg and H.R. Giger's Aliens.

One thing's for sure, if the Kaos was a little bland to start with, mnpctech is quickly turning it into a work of art that's dark, complicated and modded from head to toe, but to be honest we wouldn't expect anything less!

His fan mounts and grills are the stuff of legend as we've seen on other mods of his and BIO-MECHANICAL KHAOS is going to be no exception. Here he's decided to use some massive CNC machined covers that make the front of the case look like part of a wind tunnel turbine. They look awesome in black too.

Above we can see the covers freshly painted and installed on to the Kaos along with a skull that will be the focus for the intricate modding that is to follow.

Having drilled holes in the skull, mnpctech proceeded to insert black tubing that harks back to the kind of grotesque imagery we spoke about earlier - awesome! A massive amount of work has gone into the front bezel frame and one snapshot shows just how detailed it will be as a small rotary sanding tool is used to make the crevices in the foam.

For the mechanical side of things, mnpctech cut small pieces of chip-laiden PCB and mounted them on the bezel before painting them black. the effect is simple but very effective and we like it! If anyone's interested in sponsoring the project, mnpctech is still looking so head over to his project log if you're interested.
