Brushed Blue Aluminium Arrives

The new aluminum finally arrived and so I quickly got on and finished the first side panel. Nicely blue and brushed, just how I like it, and it matches the brushed black aluminium of the ATCS 840 wonderfully.

I also cut a new top section from the blue aluminum with black mesh underneath, in a similar design to the original silver one I did before.

And now with a lot of blue aluminum in stock I went about cutting the right side panel too. Despite being the back of the case, the whole thing needs attention, and because this offers no view of the inside this was a lot of work, but it was ultimately worth it.

Now I turned my attention to the front end of the case, at the top of the ATCS 840 where there is a hatch that hides the USB and sound ports. I decided that I didn’t really need any of them, so I fitted a Matrix Orbital display.

First I removed the whole piece from the case and got rid of all the stuff I didn’t need. I love cutting out the excess crap, it's such a satisfying feeling.

I then cut a square of the blue aluminum to fit the new hole, and made another hole in that to fit the display. With some simple superglue I fastened the display in place. Sometimes the simplest methods work great.
